Just between Tuesday and Thursday, we have already made a lot of progress. When I first put Jameson in the water Tuesday evening, he wasn't so much a fan.... but after a little time, the water calmed down (open swim was over and swim lessons started) and he got use to what was going on, he was then a happy little boy.
Our first day (Tuesday evening) was a lot of floating practices, getting the kids use to the buoyancy of the water and also a lot of practice kicking their legs and splashing with their arms. Bring on Thursday and we were already "dunking" the little ones. What a shock at first (I made Luke do the first dunk... I was a little too scared to see how Jameson would react) but with more and more practice, Mr J was a little less shocked every time he was dunked under. Also, by Thursday, Jameson was a "pro" splasher! It was pretty funny to watch him get excited every time the water went flying, but not so much fun to get that water in your eyes! (mommy and daddy were the #1 target!)
My parents were with us Thursday evening (they were in town for Easter weekend) and were very gracious to snap a bunch of pictures for me.
Tummy Floats
Back Floats
Practicing our kicking
About to get dunked!
Yes, look closely and you can see "crack"
J's pants started to fall down when we would do the "up and down" drills
I know I keep saying it, but how fun! I can't get enough of Jameson's expressions during this fun filled half-hour :-)
