Easter Weekend 2012

***I would just like to start by saying I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter weekend!***

What a fabulous weekend it was in good ol' Sioux Falls, SD!  Our fun-filled weekend actually began on Thursday afternoon when my parents arrived from Washington DC (they were out visiting my brother for a few days).  We were all very excited to see them, but Jameson's eyes lit up as soon as he realized his Nana and Gpa were finally here!

Shortly after my parents arrived, they decided they couldn't wait any longer to give Jameson his Easter present.  Oh boy was it an AWESOME surprise!!!

The afternoon was quickly passing and before we knew it, it was time for swim lessons.  We all packed up in our car and off we went.  My parents had so much fun watching Jameson splash and play in the water.  I was such a "water baby" growing up, that I am sure it brought back fun memories from when my brother and I were kids.  (it surly did for me!)  Once we were back home, we all spent the rest of the evening enjoying a fabulous dinner, relaxing, chatting and enjoying each others company.

Friday- Luke had to head in to work, so I decided to take my parents to our gym and have them join me for my Friday spin class.  I thought we could all use a little workout before our weekend of eating was in full force.  Once we got a good sweat in, we quickly got ourselves ready and headed downtown Sioux Falls for lunch and a little shopping (of course my mom and I had to get some shopping time in!).  Mr. Jameson was pretty spent by the time we got home, so he went down for a nap, the adults decided to relax and before we knew it Luke was home, Jameson was up and we were all ready for dinner!  Luke and I wanted to take my parents to one of our favorite restaurants in the area, so we loaded everyone up and headed downtown once again and enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Crawford's.

Saturday's plan took just a little detour...  Once again Luke had to work, so my parents, Jameson and I were planning to grocery shop, pick up the house a little, do some cooking... yada yada yada... Well, J woke up with a fever and was just not feeling well.  A HUGE thank you goes out to my parents because they took off and did all the Easter grocery shopping for me and picked up all the last minute things I needed.  I was able to stay home with Mr. J so he could sleep whatever he had going on off.  I also knew Luke's mom, step dad and sister would be arriving around 1, so I wanted to make sure everything was bought, in the fridge and set to go before they got to town.

What a FUN FUN Saturday afternoon.  My parents, Luke's family along with the three of us spent Saturday evening belly laughing away!  We made a delicious meal on the grill, chatted a bit and then it was time for GAMES!!  Oh yes, in true Abby style, I had put together a trivia game for the family.  The game went a little something like this...  I collected 27 trivia questions, filled 27 Easter eggs with candy and 1 Easter egg had a slip of paper that said WINNER while all the others had a piece of paper that said SORRY.  One person would draw a question out of the bucket and they then had 20 seconds to give an answer (only 1 guess).  If they did not get the question correct we moved on to the next person until someone answered the question correctly.  Who ever answered the question correctly, picked an egg out of the bag.  Once all the eggs had been pulled, we continued asking trivia questions and if you got the answer correct you could STEAL an egg from someone (anyone you wanted!)  In the end, everyone opened up the eggs they had remaining and the person that found the WINNER slip in one of their eggs received the grand prize....

Gundy was the winner!!!!

Bring on Easter!  Sunday was such a beautiful day!  We started our day with Easter mass and then it was time to head home to see if the Easter Bunny visited our house and enjoy a wonderful lunch as a family.  Gundy and Anni also did some singing for us, we took some family pictures and all around just enjoyed our time together.

Sunday afternoon the Gunderson's had to head back to Winona.  My parents, Luke, Jameson and I relaxed and explored Sioux Falls a bit before heading to bed.

Monday was our last day together.  We did a little more shopping and chatting before my parents packed up and headed back to Wisconsin.

Thank again to our families for making the trip to Sioux Falls!  It truly meant the world to us and it was so great to spend Easter with everyone.
