Milwaukee Wedding Weekend

Oh you know exactly where I am going with this one don't you?  YOU GOT IT!  Another weekend of traveling for the Hansen family!

Where to this time you ask???  Milwaukee, WI to celebrate the wedding one of Luke's best high school friends.

This past weekends travel was a pretty crazy schedule.  Luke was out of town the entire week leading up to our trip away, so it was a lot of pre-planning and packing on this mommy's end.  Luke flew into SF around 12:30am Friday morning.  Our original plan was for Jameson and I to pick Luke up at the airport and then hit the road to our first stop, Onalaska.  It always looks like such a great idea "on paper" but when reality hit in, both Luke and I decided to scratch that thought, get some rest in our bed, let J sleep one more full night in his bed and get up early Friday morning and hit the road.  BEST DECISION EVER!  Jameson slept great, I slept ok, and Luke was able to catch a few hours of decent Zzz's.

So, off we went...  Friday morning, watching to the sun rise as we were sipping our morning Joe from the front seat of the Murano.  J was enjoying Elmo (imagine that) mommy and daddy catching up on the week and making sure we had the weekend plan all figured out.

Hansen Family Plan (in a nutshell): Spend Friday in Ona with my parent's and Mr. Man, take off early Saturday morning for Milwaukee (J would be staying behind in Ona) and then get up really early Sunday morning to head back to SF.  Sounds simple right?  Oh wait, do we EVER do anything simple in this family?!?!  (come on, you know us better than that!)

We arrived in Ona just in time to have lunch with my dad.  Jameson was so excited to Gpa (or as J says now PPPPAH) and we were able to get a couple hours of play time in before it was time for afternoon nap.  The boys were in charge during nap time while this mommy was able to get out and run a few last minute errands.  After nap, my mom was home and it was time for a quick visit from our dear friends Jenna and Elliana!  Oh boy it's always SO GREAT to see them!

Just Adorable!

Thanks for showing J "the ropes" Ellie :-)

How stinkin' cute is this?!?!
Thank you Schneider Family!

He LOVES it!

Nothing too spectacular went down Friday evening....  Oh wait...  That's right, Luke and my parents had a movie extravaganza Friday evening!  Oh yes, I am not mentioned anywhere in that statement.  Anyone that knows me a) knows I really do not like watching movies b) I typically fall asleep during movies and c) if I do sit down to watch one, I have to have something else to do while watching...  example: fold laundry, play on the computer....  etc.  Anyways, the three of them were in HEAVEN!  My parents just put in an entirely new "movie set up" in their basement to include an old fashioned popcorn maker.  Lets just say I was in bed sleeping while the three of them were having the time of their lives watch the Avengers.

Bring on Saturday morning...  We were up and ready to hit the road by 8!  Mommy and daddy were excited for their day away and Jameson was ready to be spoiled.  We said our goodbyes and headed off to Starbucks.  We caravaned with another couple along the way.  I have to say, it was really nice to travel with them... We broke the drive up by stopping a few times, coffee breaks and some great conversations.  Thank you Schweins for making the 3.5 hour drive feel like 15 minutes!

We arrived in Milwaukee early enough to spend the afternoon with some dear friends.  Not to mention the fact we were in my "dream location" being in Milwaukee (my old stoppin' grounds) and to top it off, we were at BAR LOUIE!  Oh yes, my all time favorite bar downtown!  And yes, it gets better...  Not only were we in Milwaukee....at Bar Louie, but I was munching on the famous hummus plate!  This was one Happy Mama!!

My dear friend Maria and her new husband opened their adorable home for Luke and I to spend the night.  We were also able to spend just a little bit of time chatting before Luke and I had to head out for the wedding **Thank you Mark and Maria for the "lift" too and fro!**

All ready!
Wedding Time!

A small group of us met up at the Pfister prior to the wedding for a quick cocktail

Ding... Ding... Oh yes, imagine the sound of wedding bells.  What a perfect evening!  It was time to head to the Women's Club in downtown Milwaukee for Chris and Pouneh's nuptials!  I can't even put into words how breathtaking the entire evening was.  Chris and Pouneh not only combined two religions, they brought together two cultures, two families and the most unconditional love a couple could have.  On top of the love, they host one heck of a party!

Luke and I knew we had one LONG trip ahead of us Sunday morning, so Mark and Maria picked us up from the wedding and we headed back to their place.  I just have to say, I love these two and had the best time sitting in their dinning room just chatting away until all hours of the night.  Don't get me wrong, our forever long drive was creeping up on us quickly, but the laughs were never ending and the stories just kept getting better!

Thanks again Mark and Maria for the amazing hospitality!
SALMON!

Well, as always, the weekends come and go and before we know it, it's time to pack up, gas up and get back on the road.

Thank you Pouneh and Chris for allowing us to be apart of your very special day!  It was simply perfect!  You two are such a fun, loving and all around amazing couple!  We wish you a life time of love and happiness!

Mark and Maria, I have said it multiple times already, thank you for the wonderful hospitality and great evening!  (SALMON!)

Mom and Dad - Thank you for taking such great care of our precious little man!

Mark, Jean, Mike and Carol - Jameson had SO MUCH fun!  Thank you for the visit and he already wants to plan a next time!!

Love to you all!
